
Turriziani, Enzo
Born: 1989Principal Trombone of the Vienna State Opera and Vienna Philharmonic. Trombone Professor at the Conservatorio della Svizzera Italiana Lugano CH. Born in Rieti-Italy on 08/29/1989, Enzo Turriziani had his first experiences in music at the age of five in the village band of Poggio Mirteto, directed by his grandfather Giacomo Di Mario alongside his father Maurizio, a trombonist as well. He graduated from the Conservatory G. Briccialdi Terni Italy in 2009 as a student of Andrea Di Mario and Massimiliano Costanzi. He additionally participated in the orchestral specialization courses at the Scuola di Musica del Trasimeno annually from 2005-2009. He attended the Master of Specialization at the Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia - Rome with Maestro Andrea Conti. He took part to courses and masterclasses with internationally-renowned teachers such: Antonello Mazzucco, Andrea Conti, Daniele Morandini, Joseph Alessi, Charles Vernon and Ian Bousfield. In 2008, he first won an audition for a one- year contract with the Orchestra Sinfonica di Roma and then in October 2009, he won their principal trombone position, collaborating regularly with the orchestra for three years. In October 2011, he won the audition for Principal Trombone of the RAI Italian Radio-Television National Symphony Orchestra, a position he held for three years. In February 2014, he won the audition for Principal Trombone of the Orchestra DellAccademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia in Rom. In May 2017, he was the winner of the solo trombone position (Soloposaunist) at the Vienna State Opera, and in August 2020 he was officially appointed a Vienna Philharmonic member. As a soloist, Turriziani has performed at Udine Estate festival, the 2020/2021 season of the Colibrì Ensemble (Pescara Chamber Orchestra), the Santa Fiora Festival in duo with piano, the 2017 Marenco Festival in Novi Ligure accompanied by the Italian Air Force Band, the Filarmonica Umbra Festival 2014 season. Some new works for solo trombone have been dedicated to him, including the recent commission, Theme & Variations on Mahlers 3rd Symphony, composed by Frédéric Chaslin and performed in may 2022 with the Würth Philharmoniker (Germany). Since September 2022 he has served as professor at the Conservatorio della Svizzera Italiana in Lugano, and as a teacher, he has been regularly invited to give masterclasses at festivals and conservatories all over the world (Germany, Poland, Japan, Korea, China, U.S.A., Canada, etc.). He has collaborated as a guest Principal Trombone with the Tito Schipa foundation in Lecce, the Teatro Giuseppe Verdi in Trieste and the Teatro Alla Scala in Milan. He is also involved in the Human Rights Orchestra, a community of international musicians and world-renowned soloists performing fundraising concerts to support global humanitarian projects for marginalized people throughout the world. In 2023 was released his first solo CD Roots accompaigned by the Banda dellEsercito Italiano. He developed and plays an Getzen 4047ET Custom Reserve trombone. www.enzoturriziani.com
